Some of our clients have experienced similar problems. Most have chosen to
use Cognos Impromptu. With the Release of the Cognos BPCS Headstart
package, a majority of the setups have been completed. Within a couple of
hours, you can be building Financial reports directly against your BPCS
database(along with any other BPCS reporting requirements). As well,
template reports have been provided to get you going even faster.

The added advantage, is that it can also provide you with flexibility to
grow into the area of business intelligence. The integration between
Impromptu and Powerplay provide you with additional options for analyzing
your Financial information.

The only thing required to get started is an ODBC connection to the AS/400
(the one with Client Access is fine).

If you would like any further information, contact Brent Minaker or Ray
Martin at Radius Information Systems Ltd. 416-626-9556, or email
brentm@radiusinfo.com, or raym@radiusinfo.com.

We can link you up with other BPCS clients who are currently using this
product for Financial reporting purposes.

P.S. Full disclosure. We are a business partner with Cognos, as well as a
Systems Integration consulting firm, specialising in BPCS.

We are currently running BPCS 6.004 full CS on a AS/400 and we are having
problems getting timely financial data from BPCS. We have tried to use
Uservision for financial reporting and find the performance unacceptable.
Just wondering what tools others are using to do BPCS financial reporting.
