Here's another bounce, Jeff's (jwiles@clevelandgear.com) PGP somehow got
attached to it, and exceeded the 10K limit...Dean

Yes!! The company I work for had two divisions migrate (~3 years ago) from
the System 36 to version 4 of BPCS. Both of these companies were severely
under sized. In both cases the implementation was sized and sold by a
consulting firm responsible for BPCS in their area. After many angry phone
calls and letters, both of these companies were given a break on the up
grade costs. The required upgrade for one of the implementations meant
going up a tier. At this time the software license was processor based not
user based. SSA initially wanted the normal fee for this upgrade. If I
remember correctly the hardware costs were 20-30k to get acceptable
response times. This cost was split between the consulting firm/SSA and
the company.

I find it disappointing to here that sizing is still a major problem. Take
what ever the sizer says and double it. Users don't understand or
comprehend the complexity of the sizing question, but they sure are turned
off to the software very quickly.... 'We just spend $$$$$$ of this
software and it doesn't work!'

Good Luck!
Jeff Wiles
