We are not on 6.04, but if you want to improve your response time noticeably, you should get off of the CISC machine and move to RISC technology, and a more current version of OS/400. We went to risk about two years ago and the difference was remarkable. You should really consider moving to a 510, 530, 600, 620, 170 or an S model. ESPECIALLY, if you want to run a Client-server/mixed-mode application like 6.04 with any kind of acceptable response time. -----Original Message----- From: Kubota.Judy@orbital.com [mailto:Kubota.Judy@orbital.com] Sent: Thursday, September 10, 1998 10:21 AM To: BPCS-L@midrange.com Subject: BPCS 6.04 on an AS400 Model 300/2042 Anyone out there running BPCS 6.04 (or 6.02) mixed mode on an IBM AS/400 Model 300/2042? We are currently implementing BPCS 6.04 mixed mode on an AS/400 E45 with 80MB memory. Response time is very slow. We are looking at upgrading to a model 300 with 180MB memory. Wanted to see if anyone out there is running on a like system and what their response time looks like. Acceptable?
