BOM300 has an SQL statement that joins MBM with IWM and (if i remember
correctly) IWI. This single SQL statement destroys performance for BOM300. I
have modifiied this single line of code for all of my clients and then get
sub-second responses for this program. Check into it.

Yes it does.  The comment, as usual, is "... to enhance performance in the
UNIX environment, no effect plus or minus on the AS/400".  Unfortunately, my
primary client has a policy of not "taking ownership" of base BPCS code unless
we need to make a change to it based on business rules.  BOM300 requires no
such change, and no user will pay the fee to have it fixed when they want so
many other things worse...
