I thought I said in the video that I had not made the link and hence no returned records.

The program is fine Booth and Const would make no difference. The effect of that is internal to RPG only.

I'm going to try and locate the group PTF and see if that fixes the issues.

Right now there are two problems.

1) The docs say to _select_ detect lengths to have the option to associate length appear. The opposite is true on my system,

2) The docs say that if you associate the length the length field will not appear in the output - again not true in my case.
