No, I’m not set on using node. We are looking at IWS, Java and JT400, IBM Connect, and even IBM Cloud with an IBM i connector. We are just less interested in CGI solutions.

This happened to be a node conversation because of my original question.

I would love to know about any evidence (other than anecdotal) that CGI on the IBM i can scale equally well as node on the IBM i. That might make CGI solutions more appealing to us.

Thanks,

Hi Bradley,

People don't choose node for performance. Not saying it's poor
performance. They choose it because maybe all they can find are Node
Programmers, or they're locked into using OSS for one reason or another.

I just don’t think that’s right. Node is new.

Node is Javascript. not new. :)

But, it is getting better all the time. Just like RPG.

It sounds like you've made up your mind. No sense listening to us on the
list with years of experience if you're that set on using Node. I like
Node too, but I don't force it to fit where I may feel something may be
better.
