Comodo (aka InstantSSL) should be fine. I've used it many times. But if I remember correctly, there's a higher level CA, included in the Comodo CA bundle, that must be installed first.

Kevin, I agree with you--a frequent mistake is when the host name ("common name") doesn't match the actual application URL. If I were Jon, I'd click the little icon provided by my browser to see what error it's reporting. There may be a specific error. Also "view certificate" in the browser to see what certificate the server is delivering. The problem's cause may be obvious.

That is the process I described in the link I posted.

Comodo may well be a trusted CA in the real world, but it is not a normal trusted CA in DCM on the IBMi - but you can make it so. I had to do it with GoDaddy.

If you can install the server certificate on a PC you can view the chain, export each in base 64 format and import them into DCM.

That said, if Jon has already managed to install the server certificate and associate it with an application, the fact that it remains untrusted may be purely down to the host name being used in the URL when testing it.

Often, the trick is to install the certificates from the top level to
the bottom without missing any steps. Each level verifies that the next
level down is authentic.

Sam
Thanks Sam but I don't think that is what I need.

I already have a certificate from Comodo (i.e. a "Trusted authority") and for the task in hand I don't think a self-signed will work anyway.
