OK, http://www.itjungle.com/fhg/fhg030806-story02.html suggests that 5733W60 is the right version of WAS for V6 BUT that it needs 5722JV1. I suspect we have uninstalled 5722JV1 since we installed 5733W60 to try to fix some java issues we were having, thinking (rightly or wrongly?) that 5722JV1 was down-level.

This is a complete mess.

I am now attempting to reinstall 5722JV1 in order to allow me to uninstall 5733W60!

OK, moving on...

Google suggests that maybe the missing file /IBM/console is something to do with Websphere Application Server.

We have install this:

5733W60 *INSTALLED WebSphere Application Server for OS/400 V6

We're not using it and don't need or want it. I have therefore tried to uninstall it with DLTLICPGM. That fails and indicates I need to use a QSheel script to uninstall. I tried that and it fails with:

Required product 5722JV1 option 0006 not installed.

That suggests that (despite the V6 in the name above), this is not the right version of WAS? Hence *INSTALLED rather than *COMPATIBLE above? And is this what's screwed up our HTTP *ADMIN?

How do we get out of this mess short of a scratch reinstall of V6?!

Help!

I think you need 5722JV1 option 6,7,8 to use Admin.

5722JV1 is the V5 java product code.

On V6 the java product code was changed to 5761JV1.
