Hi Michael,

It looks like the issue with KERBEROS setup.

APAR SE81076 - RDI 9.8.0.1 KERBEROS SINGLE SIGN-ON CONNECTION ATTEMPT FAILS WITH INTERNAL ERROR

We do expect to put out a temporary fix to help with this issue. But in the meantime, you should be able to login using 9801 using the user name and password settings, instead of Kerberos setting.

We'll be upgrading to IBM i 7.5 very soon but in the meanwhile, we're on 7.3.

Does anyone know if there are any issues running RDi 9.8 on 7.3? I had tried to use RDi 9.8 before and it seemed to do what it was supposed to, but there was no COBOL support. Since we have a substantial amount of COBOL code, I reverted to RDi 9.6. I loaded the 9.8.0.1 fix pack today as COBOL support was supposed to be included. But I'm hitting errors doing anything now (including RPG or anything else).

When I try to load the object table, I get an error dialog stating the following:
=======================================================
'Connect (RSE SubSystem Operation:)' has encountered a problem.

An internal error occurred during: "Connect SubSystem Operation)".
=======================================================

There a button to get the Details which reports:
An internal error occurred during: "Connect (RSE SubSystem Operation:)".
com/ibm/as400/access/AS400.setGSSManager(Lorg/ietf/jgss/GSSManager;)V (loaded from file:/C:/Rdi_9.8/plugins/com.ibm.etools.iseries.toolbox_9.8.1.202312141238/runtime/jt400.jar by org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.EquinoxClassLoader@4414214a[com.ibm.etools.iseries.toolbox:9.8.1.202312141238(id=792)]) called from class com.ibm.iaccess.base.AcsGSSManager (loaded from file:/C:/Rdi_9.8/plugins/com.ibm.etools.iseries.connectorservice_9.8.1.202312141238/runtime/connect.jar by org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.EquinoxClassLoader@7f62eff[com.ibm.etools.iseries.connectorservice:9.8.1.202312141238(id=728)]).

I get something similar if I try to expand the RSE tree:
=======================================================
'Fetching children of My source' has encountered a problem.

An internal error occurred during: "Fetching children of My source".
=======================================================
"My source" is the filter name for source in my library.

The details for the error when trying to expand the RSE end up being pretty much the same as those for the Object Table.

If I try to do a Verify Connection... when it gets to the Checking PTFs section it states "IBM I VRM is not supported."

I will probably just go back to 9.6 until our IBM i 7.5 upgrade. But it would be good to know what's happening before then.

Thanks,
Michael Quigley
