Hi Jon,

The debugger APIs require that the debugger had been started before using the APIs. I have a copy of Chris Stead's RTVSRC utility and he starts the debugger as well. From the documentation:

"All debugger APIs must be called within the job in which the Start Debug (STRDBG) command is issued."

Regards,

Thomas.

The APIs would work well Brian.

There was a source retrieval program published a while back that used them. Can't find it now and am on such a slow connection that Google is not a practical option. maybe someone else can dig up an example.

You certainly don't need to go into debug mode.

I am probably talking total nonsense. This is not something I have ever looked at, but would the Debug APIs be any help?

I started developing that function for iSphere but suddenly hit a wall.
The problem is that I cannot issue the STRDBG command from RDi because
starting the debugger from a batch job is not allowed.

Too bad. I also often start the debugger to check the source code of a
program.
