I did not do that though. It is strange that this is a requirement since I do not have any trouble with other plugins once RDi is installed. I will try that tonight though.

I find that I should always run RDi as administrator, in order to have
success with option b) - was that mentioned in the sourceforge
discussion? Is it something that you always do as a matter of course
when installing an update?

This could be a useful question to ask anyone who has had trouble with
an installation.

Mark,

This is what I replied to the iSphere "Discussion" at
"https://sourceforge.net/p/isphere/discussion/general/"; this afternoon:

I whished I could better understand why it occasionally comes to that
error. Maybe, that you can help me better understand the problem.

What do you do, when you try to update iSphere? Do you:

a) select "Help -> Check for Updates"

b) select "Help -> Install New Software..."

I always use b) and select the iSphere update site from the "Work with"
drop down box.

If you go with a):

What update site to you have enabled on "Preferences -> Install/Update
-> Available Software Sites"?
What happens when you deselect all update sites unless "iSphere" on
"Preferences -> Install/Update -> Available Software Sites"?
What happens when you try option b)?
</quote>

I did not yet see any certificate error before. And honestly I do not
yet understand all these problems with installing iSphere. Option b)
always worked work for me.

I assume that all we can do is try the various options we have to
install or update a plug-in. So maybe you want to try option b) and
maybe also option a) with all updates sites other than iSphere unchecked.

The last option you have is to download the iSphere zip file and try to
install/update iSphere from that local update site.
