In the other thread I started about push to client I mentioned that I could not see environment variables I set in my start up program or added via the commands log view when I opened up a shell view and run the "set" command.

When in a 5250 session if I manually run ADDEVNVAR or run it from one of my signon programs and I go into QSHELL or PASE shell and run the "set" I can see those variables.

What is it about the RDi shell view that does not see these variables if they are set using ADDENVVAR in the commands log or start up program? If I use the properties on the IFS subsystem to set environment variables the shell "set" command shows these.

Additionally, why is it that I can only set environment variables from the IFS subsystem and not at the connection properties?

Thanks, Matt
