I have the same problem. Sometimes when I open up code it will appear in RDi with trailing spaces. I don't know if that means someone modified it in PDM, or if a co-worker has different settings than me (which they shouldn't since I set the workspace template, and I can't imagine they'd turn off trim on save).

I know saving will perform the trim, but I really don't like saving source that I don't want to touch/modify - only reference (and likely copy some piece of code). like you, Doug, I use the END key for highlighting and often end up with trailing spaces.

I do save my source -all the time- but even then I find copying over trailing spaces to be annoying. Part of the issue is that it doesn't always happen so it's unpredictable.

It'd be nice if RDi would trim trailing spaces on an open as well, at least for presentation (not so it would flag the source as changed). I guess that might get into murky waters.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Trailing blanks

I have my SAVE preferences configured to trim the blanks on a save. But what happens when you open a member with trailing blanks? That is when the trimming does not seem to be working now, as it used to work properly in WDSC when you pressed the END key. Now, when you open a member for edit and press the END key, the cursor goes to the end of the line, regardless of the number of spaces; it does not go to the last character in that line.

I will try the mapping to see if that works. Thank you for that tip, Buck!
