I like Windows 7, except for the light pastel colors...

So, do get more contrast, I switched to "Adjust for best performance", and I still get the check marks. It sort of makes windows 7 look windows XP. I like the "glass pane" but not at performance cost, and get those light/faded pastel colors for menu options. I HATE THAT!

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools
Click on Adjust visual effects, and select "Adjust for best performance"

My search has lasted long enough. I just upgraded to RDp 8.5 and I can't seem to find where I can set the error list from a verify to hide the severity 00 errors. I was sure I had it set that way in RDp 8.0.3 but I've looked and can't see where there either.
Was I just dreaming this?

Not a dream, Open the Error List view, click the downward pointing triangle on the right. One of the options is Show Severity.

Or has something changed?

Yes - they removed the checkmarks! I stumbled over this, as I am not a visual person. There are now boxes - thin, pastel boxes - drawn around the selected severities. Here, 'selected' means 'severities to be shown.'
