Just want to confirm with you...

If you use SEP, you got the error message.
How about if you just right click on the program and choose Debug as ->
Batch? Does it work or not?

And please also make sure this checkbox is unchecked:
Preferences -> Run/Debug -> IBM i Debug -> Include bound service program
when installing source breakpoints.

Start with a technical question...SEP Debugger = the Debug Perspective?

If so...you will want to add your program as the only program in the
Debug Configuration list, and make sure the Step Into checkbox is checked.
Once that program comes up in the debug view, as you are stepping through
and come upon a program you can't step into due to authority issues, use
the Step Over button (also F6 on your keyboard).  I think that'll do it.
It will limit you on some features such as the animated step into, but
hopefully it will help you get the job done.

Ken,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that's how I expect it to work. However, if there is a *SRVPGM
that I only have *USE authority to that is used by the *PGM I am
debugging with SEP debugger, as soon as RDp switches to the debug
perspective I get an error window that says "Server: CPF9802 Not
authorized to object <srvpgm> in <library>"

The *PGM itself runs to completion. It does not stop at any
breakpoints I set. I'm sure this worked in RDi v7 because I used to
debug a lot.

In the green screen debugger STRDBG, it functions properly.

My version is:
IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software
5724-Y99, 5733-RDG, 5733-RDH, 5733-RDJ, 5733-RDC
Licensed Materials - Property of IBM

Version: 8.0.3

I haven't been able to find anything about this on google or midrange
so I guess my next step is a support call.

Phil
