Interesting...

Any suggestions on selecting >Disable caching< for
the IBM i cache under Remote Systems ?

Also, If I only edit source hosted on IBM i,
do I have any Remote Systems >File Cache< ?

Thanks Paul!

I had similar problems not so long ago, and they cleared up after I cleared the cache files. (Go into the Preferences option on the Windows menu, type Cache into the little search option and press the Clear Cache buttons in both of the highlighted options under Remote Systems.)

In earlier versions of RDP/WDSC the next step would be to create a brand new workspace if clearing the caches didn't work. I know you can lose a lot of setup in creating a new workspace, but I once had to "make it easy" for other new WDSC developers and used the Team view to save and restore connections and filters. There may be mileage in looking into this yourself in order to save and restore your filters. (You'll need a CVS, SVN or Mercurial repository somewhere handy.) Looking at the Team view now in RDP 8.0.3 and it doesn't look the same as when I had to set it up in WDSC so I don't think I can help very much in telling you how to do this for the latest version. If you try this and have success then I'd be interested to know what you did.

Also I have seen this, just a couple days ago. It has happened intermittently for a couple of years. There have been other threads here about it, but nailing down the exact cause has been troublesome. Every time it has happened to me, without exception, has been during an outline refresh.

RDP disappears -- no error, no nothing, just gone.

Gary, that's pretty much what I've seen.

I do complain when I haven't saved. :) My own fault, well, I'll go
halfsies with IBM on blame.

Matt, I love my filters and have a ton of them - and every time I need
to move them I waste so much time trying to figure it out, it's not worth it.

I did check my log file after the crash, but didn't see anything in it
relating to the error (at least I don't think I saw anything...)

Maybe I have seen a problem related to yours: RDP 8.0.3 abruptly
closes. This has happened just a few times since 8.0.3 and
the only pattern seems to be I have done something to change
the outline...

So far, all I have had to do is re-launch, re-connect and re-open.

Who complains when a re-boot is not required?

Twice now I've had RDp 8.0.3 crash during a verify. I didn't get a
java error dialog either. I don't know what causes it. I still click within
the source (and on the outline), so maybe that's a part of it. Has anyone
else had this?

I'm hesitant to report this as a PMR b/c I don't know how to reproduce it.
