To my knowledge plugins for 3.x are all binary compatible (a 3.2 plugin should install in a 3.4 environment). But that doesn't mean that a plugin for RDi 7.1 works in RDP 7.6 because IBM/Rational may have changed various things (like API).

I would make a distinction between Eclipse and what Rational has put on top. Likewise with linux. Everybody say linux this and linux that. But they really don't mean the linux kernel but the distro or some other program included in the distro. Same thing.

WDSC 7.0 & RDI 7.1 are both based on Eclipse 3.2. RDI 7.5, RDP 7.5, & 7.6 are based on Eclipse 3.4. The differences between Eclipse 3.2 and 3.4 are significant. Most plug-in's written for WDSC 7.0 & RDI 7.1 will *NOT* work in RDI 7.5 / RDP 7.5 & 7.6.
