Two questions: 1) are there comelling updates? 2) If I run Installation
Manager and update the whole base, will both products be updated to the
current versions properly?

I don't know about compelling, but this is beta code, so I suspect there are
lots of fixes and improvements. I just updated my primary workstation, no
problems.

Just be sure to run the Manage Licenses step (either before or after the
update) or else RBD will complain a lot <grin>.
