I guess I'm my own worst enemy. My settings (soon to be changed):

Days to keep : 1900
Max entries per file : 10,000
Max file size : 100 MB

There is a setting in the preference for number of days to keep history
files. Its under Preferences -> Workbench -> Local History. Mine is set to

7 days and 50 MB.
Also, under Preferences -> ISeries Systems - > Remote Systems -> File
Cache
you can set the max size of the files.

I'd like to see an official answer to this question. I'd write a program
to crawl the folders and delete everything older than N days instead of
cleaning it.
If you look at the file names you can see that they are generated pointer
values. Somehow those values are attached to the the source edited so I
don't know what will happen with broken links. Maybe I should find out :)

This is where the files are stored which allow you to compare to local
history and restore from local history.
>Is there a way to prevent the collection of all this history?
No. It would be nice to have a preference for how long history is
retained.
I know that you just live with this problem in Eclipse (sad).

My WDSCi workspace is huge at 825MB. A large part (619MB) of this bulk is

in .metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.history. Is is safe to
clear .history? Is this data being put to any good use by WDSCi and/or
Eclipse? Is there a way to prevent the collection of all this history?
