Our website is using .NET in a DMZ. The internal firewall between the two
networks allow connections from the internal network to the web network, but
not the other way around. I would guess many are familiar with this setup.

Now for the problem. We want to store the information on the System i so
that our various data mining methods and future GIS (Geographic Information
System) system would all work easily. Plus we need to access some address
information that is already on the system. We would prefer to not have to
punch a hole in the firewall, so to get around this we are writing two
applications one for external use and one for internal use. We only need to
access the address information on the internal site so that isn't a huge
problem.

We still have the problem of data on the System i. Our only ideas right now
is to either export from the web database daily and import into the System i
or upon approval of the permit, write the information to the database. Do
you have any additional or better ideas to make this work?
