RE: Justifying - Operations and Staffing

I have to agree with Mark.  I think another missing piece of the puzzle.
No. of sites supported.  Our staff or 10 full time and 2 part time (CIO
down to intern) support 8 facilities in 3 states. That would make us look
high staffed in just comparing staff vs. $.    Don't look at just the
number of PC's but the number of people using the various systems.  We have
some PC's that are used by 2 or more people per shift on each shift.  Just
counting that as 1 doesn't give the full picture either.

Mark,

I'd be happy to participate in the survey and would love to se the
results, but.....

You left out some important questions that could give useful information,
in particular, number of users. Pc client operating system could be an eye
opener too.

One of the great things about the GEAC/AS400 mix (I think) is how easy it
is
to
support. Most of my departments time is spent on non-AS/400 stuff and the
number
of PC's out there is a major factor.

Maybe we could come up with an agreed survey through this forum including
other
information, such as user numbers etc??
