We are using stock locator here. We went live with it as of Jan 1, 2001
We did have a similar problem that you are describing & i found that
in the item master file (INP35) there is a field called catchweight
(CWIT35)
if you are not using catchweight make sure that field is a blank
we had zeros in the file due to when the system went live back in oct 1999
the data conversion programs populated it with a zero. Once i made
the items i was testing a blank, the options you describe worked just fine.
We have found & reported ALOT of bugs in the locator system, if you
are interested in speaking with me personally i would be happy to help you.

We are currently testing the Location Control (which is a new feature in
V3.5.2b Service Pack 3) and there seems to be areas where it is not
functionning properly.

We have the following setup : We have created a stockroom where we have
activated Location control (in stockroom definition, on the 3rd screen of
Company profile setup 1/INUM )
We have created the stockroom details for a few items in that stockroom.

When doing the Goods Receiving option (43/PMP) after having input the
corresponding purchase order, the system does not prompt for a location
within the stockroom to receive the items. According to the documentation
(Function Brief no 364 issue 1.0 on Location control) the system should
request for a location where to stock the item.
Similarly, the location control feature does seem to work at all for other
options like Miscellaneous Receipts (3/INP) and Stock Adjustments
(31/INP), Single Step Transfer (51/INP). For the 2 step transfer
(41,42/INP), the system only prompts for a location in the 'From'
Stockroom. in the first step. In the second step, 'Confirm Shipment
Receipt' , the system does not prompt for the 'To' Location
Location control features in SOP seems to be working correctly though.

Is anyone out there using Location control and could indicate whether the
above are bugs or is there anything missing in setup

Regards
