I'm still having problems with the application manager changes being applied
to my test environment. I found out that the consultant who installed our
3.5.2b uplift at the end of 1999 never install the June 1999 JBA System
Manager Update. I've install that on my test environment and Jeff Klipa
helped me understand that the AMINSTALL command was not running. I think my
system manager libraries in my test environment have the most current update
applied. But the menu and task changes are still not being updated. I'm
specifically looking at PTF P#INC20007 because there should be some new
inventory menus. When I apply the PTF it looks like it runs ok and I don't
get any errors, but when I check my joblog there is an error on a call to
the ININSTALL program. I don't have this program object on my system. When
I try the PTF for the MD application changes I get the same joglog error but
for program MDINSTALL. Does anyone have these program objects on their
system? I called JBA on this problem but they haven't been able to give me
any response yet.

Thanks,
Betsy

        Hi Betsy,

I have just applied service pack 3 to our test environment. When you
say
that the menus changes are not there do you mean in S21 Explorer or
in the
standard green screen menus. There is no other program you need to
run. The
PTF's should make all the green screen menu changes, but not in
Explorer. I
am guessing that GEAC would need to supply an Explorer update.

        Phil.

I applied the service pack to my test environment but all the menu
changes
detailed in the functional briefs are not there. Do I need to run
some
other type of program to make these changes effective?

Also, make sure the JBA command DLTOBJ is in a library that is in
the
PTFOWNER library list when trying to apply the GL PTF P#GLC20005.
The
program that runs did not bomb - it just ran for about an hour
before I got
a JBA program window saying the PTF could not be applied. I had to
check
the joblog to see that it was trying to use this command.

Should I be expecting any installation problems?
