Hello Joel,
Just want to say Thank you for providing all the information. I keep
referring to your articles for tips. I really like your style of coding.
I have been coding in RPG for last 8 years. Now I am at a point where I
want to learn a different language now. Need your advice. Doing you
think C# would be a better choice?
Thank you,
Sunil Gonchigar

Subject: [RPGNext] A Christmas present for you from RPGNext
Hi Folks! I hope the Christmas season finds you safe and happy.
Every year, I receive about a dozen requests for the xRPG Library
source code. In the past, I have been unwilling to release it, but
this year is different: my Christmas present to you is that I am
making the source code for xRPG available for download on the website.
Just visit
http://www.rpgnext.com/downloads/ and click on "Download
Source Code" to save the SAVF to your PC. Then upload it to your
iSeries. There is a library "RPGNEXTSRC" in the save file with all
the source code and some test programs.
Over the last couple of years, my daily use of RPG has dwindled
significantly. Today, I find myself a full time C# programmer, and
along with it a new site at
http://www.developingfor.net. As such, it
is unlikely that I will be updating or expanding xRPG anytime in the
near future. This should not be any big deal, as there have not been
any functional changes to it for the last three years.
The websites (
http://www.rpgnext.com and
http://www.rpgbeans.com) will
remain available, I just will not be working on the product anymore.
If anyone would like to post changes or additions, please contact me
off line.
Thanks, and have a Merry Christmas!
