The compiler will always add the null terminator. What the procedure
receives is a pointer to a null terminated string.I have written dozens of
routine using *STRING. If it didn't work, nothing would work.
Compiler either they work or they don't.

The compiler is supposed to append a X'00' but including yours as a
safety measure won't harm your execution.
