Doubtful is not "sure". ;-)

In any case, if it *has* changed, then in obsolete versions of the midrange operating system, you may have even worse/less support for regular expressions.

Yes, and since the OP didn't state which release he's running, there might be misunderstandings like "works for me", while for the OP it's not.
