Of course it happens, that is Murphey law - but an update counter prevents
one of the two updates
so the system is secured and I don't assume tha a user presses enter
"after" the phone is hanged up.

I very much agree with Henrik here.

Having said that, I have a real example of a husband and wife who called
customer service at the same time to make two different changes to their
joint account. The calls were triggered by an email blast.

The chance of X happening is closer to 100% than I used to think it was.
