an array of pointers? As far as I remember you could pass null values,

they are declared as pointers.
I'm not sure what you're asking. But, though I have over 35 years
of programming experience and in many different languages and platforms,
the C language and its variants are not ones in which I am experienced.
So, I don't know all the ins and outs or ramifications of doing what
either you or Barbara Morris was suggesting. I know enough C that I kinda
followed what she was saying. But on this platform I'm happier if I can
get RPG to do all that I need. I don't even know if we have the C
compiler at this shop. Nobody here writes in C.
