You can use the QTQCVRT API or iconv APIs to perform the conversion from your job's CCSID to CCSID 500. Let me know if you want an RPG example using the QTQCVRT API.


If you are on 7.2, you could just add keyword CCSID(500) to the from-address parameter in the prototype and the address subfield in the to-address data structure. Then RPG will handle the CCSID conversion for you.
