Couple of ways to do this. In terms of machine resource efficiency the new %BITxxx built-in would give the best performance.

Of course there is always the old-fashioned approach that we used to use in the days before such things were available. Repetitively divide the binary value by 2! The remainder of each division is the value of the bit in question starting with the rightmost bit and working to the left. Not as efficient but if you only do it once per program run who cares!
