Right, I meant that the technique in general works against any kind of array, because it is working with the true data type of the array rather than the bytes.

So this would find if there is any element in the timestamps array that is greater than the due date.

chk = timestamps > dueDate;

This would find out if any element in the first N elements of the lines array contains a '?'.

chk = %scan('?' : %subarr(lines : 1 : N));
