The + is concatenation for strings, ou nedd a tring before it and
another one after.

To caontinue a C statement you don't need the + (You do in Ds)

To replace the quotes whith underscores it will be easier to use XLATE.

Could someone please show me what is wrong with this code?

I'm getting an error saying:
" 021800 Operands are not compatible with the type of operator. "

The code is:
D LastFirst s 41a Varying
D ShiftRepl s like(LastFirst)
D Quote C ''''
D ReplaceWith C '_'
D Pos s 5i 0
0217.00 C Eval ShiftRepl = %replace(ReplaceWith: +
0218.00 C LastFirst: Pos: %len(Quote))

I can't see the problem for some reason.
This is running on v4r4

Thanks,

Gary Kuznitz
