A good RPG book can cost you a few hours wages.  But any of them should
have a payback.  If you're not willing to spend a little to make a lot
then see if the corner convenience store is hiring.

I searched the IBM books for sale on store.midrange.com.  Many of them are
geared for the experienced programmer looking to move to RPGLE.  Few of
them are targeted for the newbie.  One such book is:
Programming in RPG IV, Fourth Edition (Paperback)
by Bryan Meyers (Author), Jim Buck (Author), Katie Tipton (Editor)
It's reviews go from one end to the other.  One person loved it because it
stayed in new stuff like /free.  The other person hated it because it
didn't stay in fixed format.  One reviewer said "Another scenario I think
this book would be great for is teaching programmers of other languages
about RPG..."
Doesn't say if they cover SEU, PDM, SDA, WDSC or RDi.

Caveat:  I've not looked into the book other than the reviews.
