I always qualify them.

At the beginning of a program, I'll do a chain to a file, and I might use
%found(file) as a condition for what I want to populate the fileds with. At
the end, I'll write a record if not %found(file), od update it if
%found(file). Since I might be doing this to several files at once, I
qualify the filename out of habit. It's the best way.

Standards question: What is your feeling about %found & %eof vs.
%found(file) & %eof(file) ?

We have been having a discussion about the pros & cons of these two
choices.

It would be interesting to read the thoughts of the stars and
almost-stars on this topic?
