According to the DDS Reference, the BOX keyword is supported on the Infoprint 60, 62, 2000, 3000 and 4000 printers. If you have one of these models available to you, try printing on it.

Support for the BOX keyword with shading is hardware dependent. According to IBM Software Support at that time, the Printing Systems Division had not incorporated that support into the 2085 printer that I was attempting to use.

I had a similar problem a few years ago with a new IBM 2085 printer. My recollection was that the printer did not support all of the DDS keywords. Check the model number of the printers that are supported for this keyword.

I'm printing the box in a prtf file with: BOX(10 20 50 80 1)
But when print a shaded box, nothing appears: BOX(10 20 50 80 1 (*SHADE 70))
I've find it in a ferw of redbooks and it seems to be ok.
Any idea?

Hi Wayne, I have a IBM Infoprint 20, Infoprint 1332, and various Canon printers (all with full support of ipds) and the shade doesn't appears.
Not works printing pdf file.
