Make sure the word 'CLASSPATH' is in all uppercase. The name is case-sensitive. Also, make sure the contents of the CLASSPATH variable are syntactically correct. (No spaces, etc. If you have more than one JAR or directory, make sure they're separated by a single colon. Make sure all of the path names are correct -- I recommend fully qualifying them... in other words, don't use relative paths, other than maybe '.')

If this doesn't help, please tell us what the exception says. (Hit help on it, and provide the 2nd level text. The first level text is rarely useful.)
