Alan,

You could define short-named versions of your long fields and overlay the
long-named fieldsin your D-specss - that would mean that at least you could
still use the long names in your C-specs and only use the short names in the
O-specs...

d Extremelylongfieldname...
d 1024
d Elfn@ * Inz(%addr(Extremelylongfieldname))
d Elfn 1024 Based(Elfn@)
