Just out of curiosity, what do the C procedures do?

I assume BCD stands for Binary Coded Decimal. But it seems weird to call a C
routine when RPG's
native ZONED and PACKED formats are themselves BCD formats. Unless you are
dealing with some weird
encoding such as "Grey Code".
