Well maybe I am still confused about the *LGL. Perhaps it's just the help
is not updated?

CL variable for returned value (RTNVAL) - Help
CL-variable-name
Specify the name of the CL variable that is to contain the
return value from the called procedure. This may be a decimal,
    integer, or character CL variable.

While the help for parameter goes into great length on *LGL's there.

I guess I could try it, but it's someone else's program. He's been most
tolerable in learning the new stuff. But it is Friday afternoon and I
don't want to push too far. I don't think I could have gotten anyone else
here to pursue going from two programs to two mods in one program and stay
the course with the hurdles we first encountered and the learning curve
involved (he really hadn't used PR's or PI's yet either).
