Hi,

What about:

 /Free
    Monitor;
      Write MyFileFmt;
    On-Error 01021;   //Duplicate Record
      //Do something
    On-Error;
      //Other Errors
    EndMon;
 /End-Free

or
 /Free
    Write(E) MyFileFmt;
    If %Error
       If %Status = 01021; //Duplicate Record
          //DoSomething
       Else;
          //Other Errors;
       Endif;
    EndIf;
 /End-Free

Mit freundlichen Gru?en / Best regards

Birgitta

RPG or CL?

This is the RPG list so i expect that is the answer you want?

Look at the idea of using %error.

C     write   newrecord
C     if      %error
C     update  newrecord
C     endif

This may not be enough information for your needs, but %error is very
useful.
