That's because RPG IV does this natively.
The ADDDUR and SUBDUR opcodes do this for you.
If you use free-form the %DIFF() built-in function does it for you was well.

RPG xTools does have a GetDate procedure. This is for returning
relative-dates, like "tomorrow's" date.

Is there a relatively easy way to 1. increment a date IE: if say you have a 
system date of 10/24/2005 and want to add 45 days to it...IE: payable due 
date. and 2. substract two dates to get a number of days IE: 10/24/2005 - 
08/01/2005 to determine the number of days since.

help file I did not see anything that appeared to match up.
