well for one thing it means your vendor is not stuck in the dark ages....

subprocedures are better in many ways then subroutines.  Not saying there are 
no more uses for subroutines ( I still use them in some cases where 
subprocedures will not function as desired...).  I love that I can use local 
variables in subprocedures!!!  Not only that I can ensure that data is 
preserved in the main procedure by defining paramters to subprocedures as 
CONST!!!

Make it through the learning curve & you'll be glad you did....
