Maximum number of columns in a sql statement

Hi!

I try to use the Describe Table in a SQLRPGLE program to get the number of 
columns of a table and to get the name of each column.

My question is not directly related to my program... I read somewhere that the 
maximum of columns that a sql statement can use is 720. I don't remember where 
I found the text about this limitation. Can you please give me more information 
about that?
