Hmm,

WDSC isn't done until Outlook doesn't run?

Revenge of the old Microsoft: Windows isn't done until 1-2-3 doesn't
work. ?

Each day I count my blessings I work where I do.

Rob:

Sigh. I'd happily use WDSC much more than I do and it would certainly
help. Unfortunately, it crashes at least once a day when I use itand stuff
does get lost. In recent desperation, I even applied XP SP2 along with all
available WDSC fix packs, but it only fixed things enough to bring it down
to the once-a-day I currently experience. It was significantly worse.

Not a horrible PC -- 1.80Ghz processor w/1GB RAM and a boatload of disk
space. Except for Lotus stuff, my active processes are generally similar
to what you've listed.

My best guess is that MS Outlook is somehow involved because I've noted
that the WDSC crashes always seem to come at the same time a new e-mail or
calendar reminder arrives. (I'd get rid of Outlook in an instant, but I'm
stuck with it for now and need it active all the time.) That doesn't mean
Outlook _causes_ trouble, but...
