Ok, that's what I had done, but thought I might be missing a BIF that make
it easier. Thanks,

RE: MODS?? Help.

If you don't want to do a bsearch() (C runtime function) then create a FOR
loop

 For I = 1 to %ELEM(Sprop_Rec)
  If Sspstat = ' '
  Leave
 Endfor
** I now equal the first blank occurrence.

Subject: MODS?? Help.

Ok, Tuesday feels like Monday now. Trying to find the first occurrence in

a MODS that is not filled up? (Hope that makes sense) and then load it
with my information. I tried using %LOOKUP on the first field name, but
it's not an array so that's wrong. Here's my MODS:
?* Affected Streets Data Structure Array
     d Sprop_Rec Ds 136 Occurs(999)
     d Sspstat 1 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Sspstr# 4 0 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Ssploc 30 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Sspstak 4 0 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Ssploct 30 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Ssplds1 30 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)
     d Ssplds2 30 Overlay(Sprop_Rec:*Next)

Now let's say there are a couple of occurences filled with info I want,
how do I find the first blank occurrence? I know if it were an array
field I could do
Eval z = %LookUp(' ':MyArray:1) and that would give me the first
blank index. Thanks,
