And yes, that was my work account.  We beat the technicians senseless that 
originally set up our email and moved it from MSMail to Domino.

If you search the archives for both MIDRANGE-L and RPG400-L you'll find
several discussions of e-mail validation.

The truth is, the only real way to validate an e-mail address is to send
mail to it, and ask the person receiving the mail to send back a response.

If you just want to validate the syntax of the address, along with whether
the domain name exists  (for example, to catch some keying errors) I wrote
a service program which does this for the iSeries Network's Club Tech
Programming Tips Newsletter.
