Does anyone really care anymore about the proper use of "who" versus

Sure we do. The use of proper english words are what enable us to
communicate (in english at least). If we begin to errode the english
language where do we stop? Would it be write to us too discuss the element
zink? Katherine the Grate doesn't convey the same meaning. "Ask not for who
the bell tolls" just doesn't sound right (os is that write?).

Sorry, Walden, the "erosion" of the English language started a long time ago. Do we still speak in Shakespearian English? Do many of us understand the English written by Chaucer? Change is fundamentally inherent in any human language. Perhaps the word "whom" won't go without a fight, but its disappearance from common usage is inevitable. Just like the words "thee" and "thou" and "sayeth".

Cheers! Hans
