 Could you go in to more details?  There are folks I know that would love to
improve response times by adding memory.  Why hadn't their salesman
suggested that instead of recommending a new and larger box?

Not necessarily. Creating a memory rich environment and using SetObjAcc
to keep things in memory is not so outlandish. SetObjAcc can make a huge
performance difference. If that's critical, well...
