 there is a DEL on an O-line for the program described Update file.

However the traditional way to do deletes was to mark the record as deleted
(often times an "x" in column 1) and then in a later OCL the file would be
organized with an "omit' on the organize command.

program-described file. Finally determined that the S/36-type file does not
