Yeah, CPAN isn't the greatest, and I've often resorted to Google
myself to download required modules.  I'm not suggesting that
CPAN is an ideal model.  It's just that everything is there. (Or
supposed to be there, if you can just find it.)  But then, I
really haven't done much Perl in the past few years.  With
Python, there's so much included in the standard distribution,
there's less need to download modules.
